About
This website began out of necessity. The founder of this site is trying to recover from a hiatal hernia & severe GERD which led to inflammation, shortness of breath, esophagus swollenness / irritation / bleeding, swallowing issues, chest pain (any heart issues were cleared medically), continuous sleep problems, anxiety, malnutrition, and overall despondency. The author was driven by desperation to explore alternative options, due to medical insurance issues at the time, personal intolerance to generally prescribed PPIs, and greatly wishing to avoid surgery, if at all possible. This has led to a journey of discovering & experimenting with alternative remedies/exercises, as well as exploring the healing possibilities of breathwork and calming practices. This site is being developed to share practices/methods that are helping the admin/founder during this continued healing period; and hoping, in time, to share other’s healing journey stories. Please know, this website is just a compilation of personal experiences / trials and errors, and it is not intended as medical advice for your unique situation.
The vision for the Center of Calm Breath will be to further develop this website to help both the admin/founder and individuals who find this website continue to explore breathing techniques and calming modalities. I am hoping people share their personal experience in the comment sections, because I whole heartedly proclaim that random comments I have read on Reddit, Amazon Reviews, and youtube have saved my life. These have all done by people (many times anonymously) that have taken the time to share their experiences, with what has helped them, and I will forever be grateful. One additional note, I hope to one day hold in person classes and/or a support group locally in S.E. Wisconsin. A venue is in mind, tba. I have ran support groups in the past for different issues, so it might be time I start another one in a topic I am very passionate about, and I just CANT be the only suffering from this. Especially with all the stress from “2020/2021”.
By the way, if you are here reading this now, I am so grateful that you are here and alive. I hope you have a peaceful, healing day.
